Should I update my drone?

Don't update your drone when you need to be using your drone a lot. For example, not right before the rut if you're wanting to do recoveries or have a big mission coming up if your drone is currently working as updates sometimes can fail or be broken.

Generally, it is good to keep your firmware updated as new features and fixes get pushed. To be safe you could wait until after the busy season or hunting season to update.

Also keep in mind that sometimes if you update your drone, you have to also update your batteries or vice versa. It can also take some time to do that whole thing. 

 

In conclusion we DO recommend keeping your drone up to date as much as possible outside of busy season. But during busy season given the updates may take a lot longer or have more steps than realized, we recommend only updating as needed.
